Neem
Azadirachta indica

Neem has long been used in India for cleaning teeth, in salves and lotions for skin disorders, placed in beds, books, grain, closets, and cupboards to keep away insects, to treat fever, and infection.

Also used in toiletries, cosmetics, and livestock health.   Known for its non-toxic, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti viral, and spermicidal properties.   Said to be effective against 450 pests and diseases which affect crops.


 Nettle
Urtica dioica

Parts Used & Dosage

 

Common Names: Common Nettle, Common Stinging Nettle, Great Stinging Nettle, Stinging Nettle.

Properties and Uses: Astringent, diuretic, galactagogue, homeostatic, tonic.   The fresh juice is used to stimulate the digestive system and will promote milk flow in nursing mothers.   The decoction is used to counteract blood in the urine, hemorrhoids, excessive menstrual flow, for problems in the urinary tract, rheumatism, colds, diarrhea, loss of hair, dandruff.
